What would you do to save your people from extinction? What if your race held the key to mankind’s future? One Guardian will risk hell to change the future.
Descended from the race of Guardians, Turen’s people have survived the last two hundred years, quarantined and isolated. Living in secrecy with no mates and no offspring, they fail to deliver on their ability to replenish and heal human souls through the birth of their Guardian children. Risking his life, Turen chooses capture at the hands of a comrade-turned-enemy to seek answers to change the future.
Mia Bowman has no knowledge of the secret Guardian race. Yet, her uncontrollable, nocturnal summons to Turen’s prison cell and her strong sense of justice leave her with little choice but to help him. She can heed his warning and stay clear of his people’s problems or she can ferret out the lies and unravel an ancient tale of murder and deceit. It will take an ultimate sacrifice to stop the unexpected evil and reverse a fatal ending to the Guardian line.
THE GUARDIANS OF EDEN
A race of beings created in a Sanctum at the far edge of Eden. Co-existing with mankind, they safeguarded human souls and the promise of eternity—until a virus killed all over the age of eighteen. The surviving children fled to the Sanctum for protection, children raising children without the full legacy of their history and knowledge. Two hundred years of solitude have produced a race of semi-immortals fortified with powers and intellect but lacking the mates who will make them whole and allow them to fulfill their covenant with mankind.

Vampires are not real. werewolves are not real. magical super powers are not real. We know this but when a story is done right, we are sucked into the fantasy world created by the author. Fact or fiction no longer matters as the fiction becomes real to us as we eagerly turn each page. But like a puzzle each piece must fit together otherwise you have a distorted image full of holes an missing pieces. The characters must be believable in a way I can relate to. I had several issues with this book. First of all why did it not "ring a bell" with Turen from the very start when a HUMAN "folded" in his presence... I mean it's a big deal that was just so easily overlooked... Next Mia's easy acceptance of what was going on. If I met a real live vampire on the street id say after all the paranormal ive drowned myself in id be pretty darn calm. But if I kept waking up in strang places I would have serious issues in regards to my mental state. Mia has apparently no issues with all the crazy happening around her. With things like this dancing around in my head while reading I could not really get into the story an found a lot of it boring. An finally the main characters had no real chemistry. Perhaps with time this series will improve.Product details

Betrayal Shadow The Guardians of Eden Book 1 eBook KH LeMoyne Reviews
I will say that after the first three chapters I moved on to another book. I didn't care for the writing style and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I'm glad I came back to it. The storyline actually turned out to be really good, although lacking in some areas. The characters were strong and the passion between Turen and Mia was believable and not just thrown together. On the downside, I don't understand how Mia just one day started traveling through her dreams and never really batted an eye at it. Uh, if I fell asleep and traveled elsewhere out of the blue I'd sure as hell have some issues. If I started shooting flames from my hands, I would have some serious questions then as well. I can't imagine anyone being so flippant about doing something so seemingly supernatural. The battles between Xavier and Salvatore were too easily won. There wasn't much of a challenge there. Finally, what is the purpose of the Guardian? There were small details given about them but who and what their purpose was never seemed to be defined.
I recently found KH LeMoyne's Shifters Unlimited books and fell in love. That brought me to this book, which left me further enamored. This series introduces Guardians created on the edge of Eden, now living in seclusion in Sanctum, their ancestral home.
When the book opens, Guardian Turen has allowed himself to be captured and held by a former colleague, Xavier, who descended into madness and a life of crime after the deaths of his mate and unborn child. Mia Bowman is a human writer who involuntarily "folds" into Turen's cell at night after she falls asleep, returning home when she dozes off again. In the weeks to come, she sees the horrors of his captivity, while he sacrifices to keep her safe during her visits. Wanting to help him, she investigates his people and begins to manifest Guardian abilities. Her research leads to clues about a conspiracy that supports Xavier's claim that his mate was poisoned, giving Mia the seed of an idea for garnering Turen's freedom. But until the threat to the Guardian's mates is resolved, none of the Guardian's will be safe.
I'm a huge fan of the Shifters Unlimited Series. Since I'm waiting (patiently ) for book three, I decided to try out Ms. LeMoyne's Guardian's of Eden Series. While it took me a little bit longer to absorb myself into the story, I am thrilled I kept reading! There are many characters at the beginning, but stick with it. If you love paranormal like I do, you will really enjoy this book. As typical with her other books, this one is well written, multi-tiered plot lines, great character development and growth, and the story doesn't drag.
Turen's character (male protagonist) is strong, not just physically, but with his convictions as well. One awesome thing about his strength, is that the author balances it out with his weakness as well. It is so nice to read the strong male character getting knocked down (more than a few times) and isn't the typical "superman" character in many fantasy stories. Turin's personality strengthens those around him as well. He doesn't just "lead the way" without accepting some help. I love that. It speaks more to reality than high romance/high paranormal which can sometimes devolve into unrealistic characters and plotlines.
Mia's character (female protagonist) starts out a bit beaten down after a sudden end to her marriage. While that can be a typical (over-used) background, it works really nicely in this book. It's not overwritten that it drags the plot in another direction. It actually adds to her future growth within the novel and she becomes strong enough to overcome and look ahead without beating herself up about her past. It's also nice that the author didn't rely too heavily on going back to her past betrayal in order to give her a personality. Mia's strength develops in sync with the plot--which I never like to write too much about for fear of giving away spoilers.
